We have the honor to acknowledge

Your letter of the 17th instant enclosing

an extract of a Despatch from Sir H. Pottinger to Lord Aberdeen No. 30 of

the 12th April 1843, and a copy of another despatch No. 44 of 5th May.

In these Despatches Sir H. Pottinger reports that he had sanctioned the erection of an additional

Commissariat Building at Chusan, and also the erection of temporary warehouses there by British merchants G. M. Hope & Co.
